The Things I Forget...

I know it's way too soon to be doing any sort of one-year memorial in honor of Kara - we've got nearly two months to go before we hit the anniversary - but I was editing something I'd written about our five-year reunion.  And it led me to stop and look through the pictures I have saved from that weekend.  And in my haste to open the whole folder, I not only opened the pictures, but highlighted and opened the Quoteboard that Kara and I started the first night of Homecoming weekend, 2009, but then forgot about:

1.  "I've never been able to fit that much in my mouth at once."
- Becky, who then wound up fitting that much into her mouth

2.  "It didn't help that they were really tall and narrow shot glasses."
- Kara, re the quote above

3.  "I can't handle uppers of any sort."
- Becky, on why she only drinks decaffeinated Coke

4.  "It was the best experience of my life so far."
- Kara, on being hit by naked old women with sticks

I think about her every single day.  And Jesus Christ, I wish I would have thought to write down some context for that last quote...

  1. Lol, you and your quote book. Definately comes in handy!

And you will probably think about her everyday for the rest of your life. It's nice you have so many fond memories!

  2. Thanks, Sam. :) I do have tons of awesome memories! And I apparently I have tons of things lying around that I *don't* remember. I guess being OCD about writing down your whole life does (occasionally) come in handy. :)

  3. LOL the last quote made me spit my drink x) - doesn't matter why that even happened ... it's dead pan funny xD

I used to write down a lot too (threw it all away when I was in what I thought was the darkest time in my life) - I wanted to restart and did for some time - guess I told you about it.... but didn't went too far, maybe 6 month, then I got all fed up with my lifeline and deleted that blog too............. *sigh* I'm a real aquarius when it comes to perseverence in these things - if I don't get the "drug feeling" it won't last too long ...

  4. Sasha, I think we finally found something that we're totally different about! I'm an Aquarius too, but usually never quit anything, and half the time keep going long after I should quit. :) I've never thrown anything away that I've written, but I have lost some things by not saving them somewhere safe... For things like this, I'm really glad I have all this stuff. Other times, I think it leads me to dwell too much on the past. Either way, I'm always astounded by how much of my life I forget!!!

  5. hahahaha - it was about time wasn't it o.0 x)

I'm completely about extremes on everything, be it the writing thing or sports or eating habbits.... it's 200% or nothing x)

Well, I think the things you don't remember weren't worth to safe in your brain ;) tho I wished for some I wouldn't remember - I deem them not worth but they are there like a damokles sword .......... hummmmm

  6. Whoa, how philosophical of you! :) And very true... I seem to have experiences all the time where I stumble across something that seemed insignificant at the time, but I wrote it down anyway, and much later it meant much more to me. Or am I just looking for meaning in trivial things?? AH, now you've got me being philosophical. :D

  7. Don't we all look for meaning??? In the weirdest things? What is to life if there is no meaning?

oyyyy - too heavy questions for a friday x) Let's go on with something more light for the weekend: How is the weather??? *lol*

  8. WEATHER! That is definitely an appropriately non-philosophical Friday topic. :D It's sunny and warm here, but not hot! How about you? :)

  9. I'm an Expert in changing subjects :D

Well our friday started off HOT! In the afternoon it went from one minute to the other from light blue to dark blue and in the next to black o.o with thunder and lightning and storm - that would've given some amazing pictures (if only I had a new camera ;) ... )

And waking up to a light grey and some rain today ;)

    Happy Weekend :D
