Even for the Slider Inn...

...last night was pretty crazy.

Needless to say, I drank too much.

You ever notice how, after a night of drunken revelry, for about the first twelve hours it's all hysterical awesomeness, and then afterward you sink into a depression as your body flushes the alcohol out and takes some of the memory loss with it?

Taking into consideration my current level of joyousness, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be feeling really fucking stupid starting at about 4 o'clock this afternoon...

(But so many kudos to the Drunk Me of Last Night for NOT sending that Facebook message that I don't remember typing but was staring back at me from my computer when I woke up this morning.  Dear God.)

  2. I should NEVER get on a computer after I've been drinking. And yet I seem incapable of stopping myself... :)

The message only said, "Sooo....what the fuck?" But the person I was going to send it to! I would have died. I'm such a moron sometimes, and I STILL can't believe I was lucky enough not to hit "send"!! I would like to think that even in the state I was in, I realized it would be a bad move, but the more rational explanation is that I got distracted and just forgot about it. Either way, it was a win for me. :)

  3. I'm happy it was a win for you ;)

I would love to say myself and cell phones/computers only don't mix when drunk ... I can send things I shouldn't when I'm sober and all alert .... still these things come out (and are sent) before I even thought it (if you get the drift ;) ...) I should always stay away from these appliances when being in a somewhat troubling situation

  5. HAHA, Sam, I have had the privilege of being on the receiving end of a couple of messages from you in the past...but they were always awesome!! :D

And Sasha, yeah, I've sent some pretty dumb things without even the influence of alcohol to blame...the involvement of emotion in general tends to get me in TROUBLE!

  6. Hey, I had to come over here and post this because when I heard about it I was like, "WHA ???" Have you heard yet about "runner's face"? It seems to be the latest thing they're trying to freak out women runners with. Google it. I really don't know what else to say other than . . just another thing to worry about when you make it into your 40s. :/

  7. Oh dear God! No, I had never heard of that until just now...looks like someone thought it would be a good idea to try to capitalize on other people's fitness and make money by freaking them out. What bullshit!!

It's funny, my face definitely goes through a process of looking more "gaunt" every year around this time when my training hits its peak, but I would never think, 'Oh, my cheeks are a little more hollow therefore I look OLD.' This actually pisses me off...it's like no matter WHAT you do to keep yourself healthy, someone out there is going to try to convince you you're not good enough and come up with an expensive medical procedure to "fix you." UGH.

  8. What really sucks is that they make it a case of having to pick your face or your ass. How about moderation and keep eating healthy? You don't have to run and not eat . . . it is possible to do both, though not always simultaneously.

  9. You're absolutely right...I mean, my food intake while training for this marathon! I eat so much more than I ever have before. I've cleaned up my diet, too, and have lost a little weight without meaning to, but I know people who have actually gained weight, in part because of how much they're eating. So I totally agree. It's insane to think that you can't maintain your weight...or your facial roundness, should that be your goal. :)
