ACTUAL AARON CARTER NEWS (Come Get It)

Friends, I'm afraid that I have been neglecting probably the only truly noble purpose this blog serves, which is to alert the public to the goings-on of Aaron Carter, the diminutive younger sibling of Backstreet Boys weak link, Nick Carter.

Aaron, as long-time readers know, once gave the world a gift beyond all measure, the song/video "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)," which was unequivocally the best thing to happen in the year 2000.  (A few delusional souls have argued he had a "music career" that spanned "more than 'Aaron's Party,'" but no one believes this.)

The world being the fickle, cruel place that it is, it has given very little back to Aaron in return.  But that which it did give, Aaron spent, and now he's broke as shit and filing for bankruptcy.

"Bankruptcy filing 'very positive' for Aaron Carter, publicist says," screams a headline on CNN.com.  (Actually, I think the real win for Aaron Carter is that CNN.com thought him still worthy of a headline.)

As I read, I feared that the article itself (click above, if you must) might be the saddest thing I'd ever seen...but then I visited Aaron's Instagram page to look for a current picture of him and discovered that as recently as three days ago, he was still dressing like this:

And then that became the saddest thing I'd ever seen.

All of this being said, I admittedly am in no position to be casting stones.  Aaron owing $1.3 million in back taxes is really not all that unlike me owing you periodic Aaron Carter updates and not delivering for the past two years.

But now we have both taken steps to correct our past mistakes, and may the two of us have the wisdom to do better in the future.

Thank you, Kathryn, for the link!!

  1. oy, THAT is the saddest part. there is no sign of style evolution whatsoever O.O"

filing for bankruptcy is only sad because he once had enough to not worry
    too much about it.

    1. Agreed. :-/ The article talked about how most of the back taxes that were owed came from when he was much younger and his parents were to blame for mismanaging his money. Nonetheless, that doesn't explain why he is *completely broke* at this stage, especially since he seems to be working quite a bit! Oh, Aaron...

    2. I guess there comes a point where you can't work it off anymore :-/ I mean 1.3 Mio O.O" I would have to work around 40 yrs and not spend a single dime to work that off ..............

but his parents really need a pad on their head - with a baseball bat

  2. I'm comfortable enough with my manliness to admit that Aaron Carter's "That's How I Beat Shaq" music video is one of my guilty pleasures.
