...I was driving to Nashville with my mom to see Paul McCartney.
My book wasn't out. (And I didn't know when it would be out.)
Kara was still alive.
I'd never been to a Breakaway group run.
It doesn't feel like a year ago. It feels like a decade ago.
Obviously the blog entries aren't coming with the regularity that I'd like, but that doesn't mean I'm not furiously writing away somewhere else (in this case, that somewhere else is a Word document that will hopefully soon be transformed into Book #2).
Other than that, I have nothing to say right now. (Actually, I have tons to say, but nothing that I'm going to write publicly about this very moment.) So, uh, here endeth this quasi-worthless post.
A Year ago today... I had (only) been unemployed for 4 months; My house had (only) been on the market for 5 months; my old VW Passat really and truly broke down for the last time; with the help of my family I bought a new-ish Toyota Corolla; My beloved Siamese female cat of 17 years needed to be put to sleep. Today I still have my two boy cats, my house is sold, and my car is still running good.
ReplyDeleteSo, would this be a hollow blog?
ReplyDeleteWow that's insane... It does seem like a long time ago! A year ago I hated my job, I was freezing cold in toowoomba. I had just found out my wedding was to be in 8 weeks and was frantically planning. I was dreaming of a holiday to Harry potter world and NYC.. Wow, what a thing to think about! I actually really like this blog, should be a sequel!!! Xx
ReplyDeleteHA! Well played, Scott. :)
ReplyDeleteSam and Leslie, it's amazing how much things change in a year! And there are times when I could look back on life a year ago and it wouldn't really be all that different, but it seems like right now, for all three of us, we're going through periods of massive change. And along those lines, I can only imagine where we'll all be a year from now... :) (Sequel opportunity!! :D)
A year ago... I thought it couldn't get any worse - I was wrong.
ReplyDeleteBut other than that it was a boring time x)
besides I "met" some new people I'm happy to have in my life now - yep talking about my gyllenhaalics too ;)
Sasha
I hope things are better right now, Sasha!! I understand, though. I thought things were pretty rough this time last year, too, but I didn't hit bottom for many months to come. :(
ReplyDeleteBut it's amazing what surrounding yourself with good people can do for you. :) *hugs*
unfortunately I'm still sitting on a diving coaster :( .........hope I hit bottom soon too.
ReplyDelete*hugsback*
Sasha
